Tea Urn “ Maple leaves Festival” Artist: Sokuzen Eiraku(1917-1998)
Created by Zengoro Eiraku 16th (called Sokuzen after he handed over the name Zengoro). The name is inherited by the Eiraku family who have been creating their pieces of pottery for the celebrated tea masters from when Sen-no-Rikyu succeeded.
The theme of this Tea Urn is “Maple leaves Festival” in “The Tale of Genji”. Young Hikaru-Genji, the main character of the story, and his friend To-No-Chujo dance at the festival in Imperial Palace to celebrate autumn maple leaves.
